Prayer to Our Guardian Angel
LET US ALWAYS REMEMBER THE PROTECTION OF OUR GUARDIAN ANGEL
God, in his infinite mercy and knowing our constant weakness, did not want to leave us alone and without protection, and assigned to each of his children at birth an angel, whom we call the Guardian Angel .
This Angel that is given to us has an extremely important mission, which is to take us into Eternity with God, because we know that each of us is born for eternity, but our life and God will tell us if it will be an eternity with God or an eternity without Him!
In any case, our Guardian Angel is by our side. We always run the risk of associating the image of our Guardian Angel with the many paintings of cute, colorful and fragile angels. When we transfer this image to our personal relationship with him, we make a serious mistake, because in one way or another, we end up believing that our angel is not so strong and powerful.
The Catholic Church also recognizes the existence of these spiritual beings, protectors and guides of men throughout their earthly life.
She also celebrates them during the feast of the holy guardian angels , on October 2 , a feast which follows that of the holy archangels, on September 29.
In the Catholic faith, guardian angels are not determined by the astrological sign or the date of birth but it is God himself who sends one of his holy angels to each human being. Like Padre Pio who established a strong relationship with his guardian angel, let us also learn to better know and listen to this heavenly companion, at our side at every moment.
